Welcome to my blog "Inga's Not-So-Secret Diary. The reason I have this blog because I would like to share my life journey from before and after I married, also before and after I moved to Canada from Indonesia. It was a big journey for me because I am leaving everything I have, everything I know, everything I own and everyone close to me and moved to the country far away with no family at all except my husband's family.
First let me introduce myself. My name is Inga (pronounce Ingga). I was born, raised and lived in Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia until I married in 2000 and moved to Canada in 2001. I have 4 siblings 3 brothers and 1 sister, we all lives far away from one another in 3 continents, Asia, Europe and North America. I am the youngest in my family of 5.
My only sister lives in Japan, she is married to a Japanese man and has 3 children (all grown up, one married) and has 2 grandchildren, a boy and a girl, 2 of my brothers (first and third brothers) lives in Jakarta, Indonesia, both married. My first brother has 2 boys and 2 girls (all grown up and married) and has 8 or 9 grandchildren, not sure...lost count :), my third brother married with 2 children (all grown up, one married) and has 2 grandchildren. My second brother lives in Netherland, married with one child (grown up and married), has 2 grandchildren.
I have lots and lots of cousins back home in Jakarta, Indonesia and still keep in touch with them through Line chatting or Line phone call.
My siblings and I have difficulty to get together since we lives far apart in this world, its kinda sad and I miss them, I miss to know their extended family. Believe it or not, the only family photo we have....family photo meaning...mom and dad and their children, right??, it was back in the sixties....sixties. Imagine that, how many decades ago..WOW...OMG.. Yup, that is right..back in the sixties. that's it, after that no more family photos. We always missing one, all the time.
